Volunteer Opportunity – WomenVenture

WomenVenture is a nonprofit Twin Cities economic development agency providing services that help women and men start and grow small businesses and change or develop careers. As we celebrate 33 years of service in 2011, our mission remains strong: to help women become economically successful and prosperous. Teachers/trainers

Men and women with teaching/training experience in their field of expertise needed to train WomenVenture
classes in career and business development. WomenVenture has curriculum for all classes. Class subjects include the process of getting hired (resume development, interviewing, negotiating, networking, etc.); discovering careers aligned with personal passions and goals; all areas of starting and expanding a business; using QuickBooks; how to build a website, etc.

Curriculum review and writing

We are constantly updating the curriculum for our classes and seek people with expertise in career development and business development with experience in reviewing and/or writing curriculum.

Career and Business consultants

We offer both career and business consulting (and also life coaching) and seek qualified volunteers to work with our clients on a one-on-one basis.

Marketing committee member

Work with our agency marketing committee and marketing manager on all aspects of agency marketing.

Loan Fund Specialist

WomenVenture’s loan applications are reviewed by our loan fund committee, made up of volunteers. Committee meets once-a-month or every other month depending on need. Finance and loan background needed.

Spring Event Committee

Members needed to help plan our spring 2012 Event, particularly by selling sponsorships.
